Chasing is a system, not a person
Follow-ups fail when they depend on one coordinator remembering. Here is how to design chasing into your operations.
Every open item, whether a quote, a part, a delivery or a breakdown, needs an owner, a due time and a next action.
When that lives in one person's head, it leaves with them on leave, on night shift or when they change jobs.
Automated chasers turn this into a rule. If there is no update by the due time, ask the owner, and escalate if needed.
Keep chasers short, polite and specific. People answer a precise question faster than a general reminder.
